Happy Divorce-ary to Britney, Jessica!

November is a big month for celebrity divorces.

In 2005, Jessica Simpson split with Nick Lachey, who she (supposedly) gave her v-card to and starred on a reality show called Newlyweds with. Anyone remember that?

Gosh, it was so long ago. Turned out to be Jessica's worst career move, as she can't buy a successful project now, and went on to date the biggest douchebag in music.

Nick, meanwhile, had a hit album and started hittin' Vanessa Minnillo.

November was also the month in 2006 when Britney Spears filed for divorce from that loser K-Fed, a union we all thought was super hot and destined to last forever.

Just kidding. No one thought that.

The breakup of Britney and Kevin is perhaps most notable for the fact that the girl went absolutely bonkers for a year or so afterward, shaving her head, parading around like a cheap ho in no underwear and getting hospitalized involuntarily. Twice.

MTV has released some more preview clips for its upcoming Brit-Brit documentary, which will air November 30, just two days before Circus hits stores.

We're a little confused by all this.

It's awesome that she's got a new album coming out and everything, and that she's doing a lot better after her rough patch, but why the documentary? Is a pop singer creating a new record and going to dance class really that groundbreaking?

Combine the general absurdity of this slickly-produced, behind-the-scenes footage with Britney's stoner-like, philosophical quotes (her mundane life is worse than jail, etc.) and you've got a solid 8.5 on the unintentional comedy scale.

Britney Spears Laments Boring Existence

Britney Spears' much-hyped new album, Circus, is set to drop December 2 and MTV's documentary on her, "For the Record," airs on November 30 at 10 p.m.

In an interview for the special, Britney compares her life to Groundhog Day, the movie starring Bill Murray, whose character repeats the same day perpetually:

“There’s no excitement, there’s no passion. I have really good days, and then I have bad days... Even when you go to jail you know there’s a time when you’re gonna get out. But in this situation, it’s never ending. It’s like Groundhog Day every day.”

Britney Spears continued to philosophize:

“I think it’s too in control. If I wasn’t under the restraints I’m under, I’d feel liberated. When I tell them the way I feel, it’s like they hear but they’re really not listening. I never wanted to be one of those prisoner people. I always wanted to feel free."

We have no idea what she's even talking about, to be honest, although we are reminded of The Office quotes in which the Dunder-Mifflin Scranton employees pretend life is better in jail than work... where they must do the same things every day.

The earth-shaking comeback of Britney Spears rolls on.

Our girl's got a hit single, an album ready to drop in two weeks, a brand new website, a hot airbrushed body, a tour in the works and lots, lots more.

Today's announcement: Britney will be taking part in one the biggest annual holiday traditions: the lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree!

On December 3, the day after she turns 27 and her new album, Circus, hits record stores, Britney will be in the Big Apple for the tree-lighting extravaganza.

BACK ON TOP: Britney Spears' mega-comeback included some big wins at the MTV VMAs. Which are totally rigged and arbitrary, but that's neither here nor there.

What's still unclear is whether or not she'll be performing at the ceremony, or just hangin' around with host Al Roker for the NBC broadcast of the event.

We'd bet against her singing, since she sort of can't, whatsoever, in a live setting, but it's awesome that she's gonna be there in the heart of N.Y. City.

Speaking of Rockefeller Plaza, 30 Rock quotes are pretty funny. You should watch the show. It's actually pretty great even though it doesn't get much press.

Truthfully, there is no other way to explain the promotional photo below, released to hype up Britney Spears' forthcoming album, Circus.

Without question, Britney Spears looks totally hot in the picture - in fact, she looks about as great as we have seen her in like six years.

Which is probably when Jive first took this photo, only to dig it out of the archives this week and airbrush it up real good. After cutting and pasting Jessica Simpson's weave and Heidi Montag's makeup and surgically-altered nose for good measure.

Seriously, props to the graphic designer for their awesome work here. At least the Britney Spears nude shots in the "Womanizer" video looked real.

On a day that saw her son Jayden James hospitalized after eating something bad back home in Louisiana, Britney Spears also received some good news.

With her career comeback in full swing, it was announced Monday that the 26-year-old was nominated for an award - and one people will actually vote on!

After racking up some big wins at the hilariously rigged and meaningless MTV VMAs, Spears is up for a People's Choice Award for How I Met Your Mother.

The category? "Favorite scene-stealing star." She's certainly that.

Brit Brit is up against Luke Perry and Robin Williams, both of whom were nominated for their guest appearances on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

The star played a dorky receptionist named Abby in two episodes of the CBS show. On the first, in March, she helped HIMYM score its best ratings ever.

Spears has been on a tear professionally, receiving huge applause when she performed at Madonna's Sticky & Sweet concert in L.A. (above) last week.

Her new single, "Womanizer," not only features Britney Spears nude - it hit #1 on the Hot 100 Billboard chart in October - her first #1 song since 1999!
